The textbook of Social-emotional development for toddlers (level-1) is including 4 chapters. Among the 4 chapters, chapter 3 is the core, which contains 16 emotional vocabularies refined by early childhood education experts, suitable for toddlers aged 1.5-3.
1. If you are a preschool teacher
Please refer to the time-table under Appendix to set aside 30 minutes every day to engage your class to the activities of social-emotional development to let students recognize and perform the 16 emotions in various scenarios. It is recommended to let toddlers learn 2 to 4 emotional vocabulary every day with the 16 color emotional cards in the Appendix. After 3 weeks, you may organize a test for your students and record how many emotional cards were recognized and performed by each individual student. For comparison, you may test another group who did not take the class of social-emotional development with the textbook. If the 16 emotions were not fully recognized and performed by students, do not worry, you can repeat the process, which would mean taking another 3 weeks to let your students learn it. It is normal for a toddler who is able to recognize and perform the 16 emotions within one year.
